We had the pleasure of speaking with Glossify Ambassador Stephanie Holland, co-owner of MUSE - beauty salon, delving into the intricacies of starting a business from the ground up, strategies for acquiring new clients, and insights for managing consecutive client-packed day

What inspired you to open a salon?

After having my twins I worked from home, I really missed the salon and team atmosphere. I felt I was ready go to work and have a work / home balance as I felt like I was always at home. I really wanted to create the perfect calming work environment, MUSE allows me to work whilst feeling like I’m having a break as it has the most tranquil feel to it.

What is your favourite aspect of your job?

The people I get to work with on a daily basis. I am lucky enough to have the most amazing clients and work team that are now friends! I feel like I’m always catching up with friends and having a laugh.

What Glossify product could you not live without?

There are soo many but if I had to chose one it would be Nude Naturabuild! It suits all skin tones and is such a dream to work with!

How do you build a business whilst not overworking yourself?

Trying to prioritise time aside for content, social media and admin is important. That way you avoid struggling to do it in between clients and day to day life. Also having a good social media manager that understands your vision really helps. 

What do you find the best way is to gain new clients?

Being consistent on social media is the best way in my opinion. Although on my feed I only post content taken on my own hand I always share my work to my story tagging my clients who then reshare allowing their followers to also see. 

What are your top tips for back to back client days?

Try and stay hydrated, try and find out what your client is having prior to their appointment so you can be prepared. Have all your products and equipment tidy and organised after each client to avoid things getting messy. Being unorganised will slow you down.
